Evening Walk: Water Meadow and Parkland
Our April meeting was an evening circular walk to include both waterside meadows and park land. From the Angel and Greyhound meadow we walked through the back streets and alleys of St Clement’s to emerge on the Marston Road. A turning after the Islamic Centre led us down to the Cherwell at King’s Mill. We followed the river northwards through Mesopotamia, then crossed over to join a footpath though the water meadows towards Ferry Road, William Street, and the wooded area now being rapidly developed for Brookes’ University student accommodation. Crossing Cuckoo Lane we returned through South Parks to regain our starting point at The Plain. A most enjoyable (and rain-free) evening stroll.
